DOTD announces lane modifications on US 171 in DeRidder

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces lane modifications on US 171 from W. Port Street to West Drive in DeRidder.

Crews are restriping this portion of US 171 to add a continuous center left turn lane as part of the ongoing US 171 improvement project. This change in striping is expected to improve safety and provide better flow of through traffic. The restriping is anticipated to be complete and operational today, Friday, January 29, 2021. Motorists can expect to see intermittent lane closures.

In addition to the restriping, the project includes new drainage structures, installation of ADA ramps, curb repairs, and mill and asphalt overlay. The entire project is expected to be complete in February 2021. All dates and work are weather dependent.
