BATON ROUGE, La. – The Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that the New Roads/St. Francisville ferry is out of service because of a mechanical failure involving the main port generator.
 
This generator provides the electrical power for the ferry. DOTD is waiting on a part to fix the generator and expects the ferry to be back in operation by Wednesday. The operating hours for the ferry are 4 a.m. to midnight.
