UPDATE REOPENED: BRIDGE CLOSURE: LA 594 near Swartz in Ouachita Parish

UPDATE: LA 594, at the location described below, has been reopened to traffic.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, February 1, 2021, Caney Creek Bridge on LA 594 will be closed, approximately 1000 feet east of LA 139 in Swartz, Ouachita Pairsh.

The LA 594 bridge closure is anticipated to last 1 week, and should be reopened Friday, February 5, 2021.

DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.

Permit/Detour
The detour route will be LA 594, US 80, and LA 139.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
