The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that US 71 (Exit 63) & I-49 (Exit 80), all I-49 Southbound On-Ramps, ARE CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC due to failure in the slope of the road.

Rapides Parish, US 71 to I-49 Exit 83 On-Ramps
Northbound and Southbound On Ramps

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, Exit 83 Northbound and Southbound ramps will be closed, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, due to failure in the slope of the road

Permit/Detour section
The detour is as follows: US 71 Northbound to I-49 Southbound will take Exit 83 (Broadway); US 71 Southbound (MacArthur Drive) will continue South on US 167 to Meeker, to I-49 Southbound.
