The type of work is clearing and grubbing, removal of bridges, grading, drainage structures, class II base course, lime treatment, pavement patching, milling asphalt concrete, asphalt concrete pavement, riprap, flexible revetment, precast concrete barrier, temporary detour roads, precast concrete piles, concrete slab span bridge, precast pre-stressed concrete girder bridges, temporary detour bridge (concrete) and related work.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists of a lane closure at Bayou Manchac Bridge on US 61 (Airline Hwy.) 1 mile North of LA 427 (Perkins Rd.). Beginning Thursday, January 28, 2021 there will be intermittent lane closure on the northbound newly constructed bridge. Motorists traveling northbound on US 61 should expect a single right lane closure, intermittently, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting. This closure will allow the contractor to receive concrete piles for upcoming work.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
