US 61: Bayou Manchac & Bayou Francois Bridges, Intermittent Lane Closure, East Baton Rouge & Ascension Parishes

Construction has begun for State Project H.000337 US 61: Bayou Manchac & Bayou Francois Bridges, East Baton Rouge & Ascension Parishes for a length of 1.490 miles. The type of work is clearing and grubbing, removal of bridges, grading, drainage structures, class II base course, lime treatment, pavement patching, milling asphalt concrete, asphalt concrete pavement, riprap, flexible revetment, precast concrete barrier, temporary detour roads, precast concrete piles, concrete slab span bridge, precast pre-stressed concrete girder bridges, temporary detour bridge (concrete) and related work.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists of a lane closure at Bayou Manchac Bridge on US 61 (Airline Hwy.) 1 mile North of LA 427 (Perkins Rd.). Beginning Monday, January 25, 2021 there will be intermittent lane closure on the northbound newly constructed bridge. Motorists traveling northbound on US 61 should expect a single right lane closure, intermittently, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting. This closure will allow the contractor to receive girders for upcoming work.
