UPDATE: The outside lane of I-10 westbound from mile marker 105 (Vermillion River) to mile marker 104 (Louisiana Avenue) will be closed as follows, weather permitting.
• Thursday, January 21 at 8:00 p.m. until Friday, January 22 at 6:00 a.m.
• Friday, January 22 at 8:00 p.m. until Saturday, January 23 at 6:00 a.m.
The outside lane of I-10 westbound from mile marker 105 (Vermillion River) to mile marker 104 (Louisiana Avenue) will be closed as follows, weather permitting:
• Tuesday, January 19 at 8:00 p.m. until Wednesday, January 20 at 6:00 a.m.
• Wednesday, January 20 at 8:00 p.m. until Thursday, January 21 at 6:00 a.m.
This closure is necessary to allow crews to repair joints on the Vermillion River Bridge.
There will be no vehicle width restrictions associated with this lane closure.
Emergency vehicles will have access to the area but may encounter delays. No detour route is necessary.
The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge (State Project Number H.003003). The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to LA 328 (Breaux Bridge).
The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in March 2021.
