Who: All interested citizens are invited and encouraged to attend
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will conduct public hearings in support of the construction of Interstate 49 South from the interchange of La. 1 and La. 308 at U.S. 90 in Lafourche Parish east to the existing elevated portion of the Westbank Expressway (U.S. 90 Business) near Ames Boulevard in Jefferson Parish.
Representatives of DOTD and the project team will be available to provide information about the general location and design features of the roadway; the social, economic, environmental (including wetlands and floodplain), and other impacts of the project; the relocation assistance program; and any other matters of interest. The hearings will also feature a recorded presentation of the project information.

A court reporter will be available at the hearings to record verbal comments from interested citizens. Written statements and other exhibits in lieu of, or in addition to, verbal statements made at the public hearings must be submitted or postmarked by Monday, April 9, 2007. All comments must include the name and address of the person commenting.
