DOTD announces upcoming lane closures on US 61, Northbound and Southbound from Irene Rd to Barnett Rd

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces upcoming lane closures on US 61, Northbound and Southbound from Irene Rd to Barnett Rd.
One lane of US 61 will be closed in both the Northbound and Southbound directions from Friday January 15, 2021 to Tuesday January 19, 2021. This closure will take place daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. All work is weather permitting.
These lane closures are necessary to facilitate the installation of erosion control along the US 61 diversion road as part of the Comite River Diversion Canal project.
Motorists may encounter excessive delays during the peak times of this closure.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds area residents to exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
