What: Public meeting regarding the proposed interchange at La. 1088/I-12 in St. Tammany Parish

When: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27

Where: Mandeville Middle School

Who: All interested parties and their representatives are invited to attend. 

Purpose: The purpose of the meeting will be to provide information on the proposed interchange, which would change the existing intersection of La. 1088 and I-12 from an overpass to a full interchange, allowing traffic movements in all directions. An environmental assessment was completed in 2001, and the proposed interchange connecting La. 1088 to I-12 in St. Tammany Parish received a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) from the lead federal agency involved, the Federal Highway Administration. The project was then almost fully designed and engineered, but then went through value engineering, and the design of the interchange has changed. Preliminary engineering plans for the revised interchange are under way, and a supplemental environmental assessment is currently being performed to assess the impacts of the different design features. Data and information from both of these efforts will be presented at the meeting.
