Tuesday, February 09, 2021 at 8:25:47 AM
The below press release is extended until February 26, 2021.

Construction is underway for State Project H.009481, LA 20 Bayou Chevreuil Bridge. The project is 0.441 miles long and the type of work is clearing and grubbing, removal of bridge, grading, drainage structures, milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, class II base course, asphalt concrete pavement, precast concrete piles, precast prestressed concrete girder span bridge, and related work at a cost of $11,690,767.39.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that there will be intermittent lane closures on LA 20 near the bridge at Bayou Chevreuil. These closures will begin Wednesday, January 13th 20th, and last through Friday, January 15th 29th February 26th. The intermittent lane closures will take place between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm. Motorists will still have access to travel the roadway, but should anticipate delays as flaggers facilitate and direct traffic. These closures are needed as construction crews mobilize equipment and install material.

No permit or oversize loads greater than 10’ feet wide will be able to pass.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
