Plaquemine ferry reopens with one boat in service

Baton Rouge - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that the Plaquemine ferry has resumed service with one boat operating. The second ferry is still temporarily being used in Cameron, LA.

The hours of operation for the Plaquemine ferry are Monday - Friday from 4:30 am to 9:00 pm, and Saturday - Sunday from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm.

DOTD appreciates your patience during this time. Motorists are encouraged to check the status of road conditions statewide prior to beginning commutes by visiting the 511 Traveler Information website at www.511la.org or by dialing 511 from their telephone and saying the route or region about which they are seeking information. Out-of-state travelers can access the system by calling 1-888-ROAD-511 (1-888-762-3511).
