DOTD announces results of Nov. 15 bid letting

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $176 million at its Nov. 15 public bid opening, according to Gov. Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $166,698,939, Traylor/Kiewitsouth/Massman Joint Venture, Evansville, Ind., was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Orleans and St. Tammany parishes calling for construction layout, signs, timber piles, precast prestressed concrete girders, segmental box, cast in place substructure and segmental box precast substructure on the new I-10 Twin Span Bridge over Lake Pontchartrain.

Other projects by parish(es), description, apparent low bidder and bid are as follows:

Caddo – Grading, class II base course, drainage structures, superpave, concrete slab span bridges and related work on Cypress Bayou, Cross Bayou and Greenleaf Drive bridges, C W and W Contractors Inc., Sibley, $979,636.20.

Calcasieu – Concrete sidewalk and related work on Park Road from Moss Bluff Middle School to Pine Cone Drive, Gray Two Construction LLC, Baton Rouge, $240,152.17.

Calcasieu – Patching, cold planning, overlay, pavement markings and related work on U.S. 165 from U.S. 90 to the Jefferson Davis Parish line, R.E. Heidt Construction Co. Inc., Westlake, $690,249.59.

East Baton Rouge – Grading, class II base course, lime treatment, superpave, cold planing, high early strength Portland cement concrete pavement, drainage structures, signing, traffic signals, video detection system and related work on I-12 at Sherwood Forest Boulevard for intersection improvements, Hard Rock Construction Co., Metairie, $2,930,217.70.

Lafourche – Maintenance mowing and litter collection on U.S. 90 from La. 182 to the Lafourche/St. Charles Parish line, Elliott Grounds Maintenance LLC, Rosedale, $109,867.80.

OrleansMaintenance mowing and litter and trash collection on I-610 in Orleans Parish from its junction with I-10 to the Jefferson Parish line, Leroy Danos Maint. Services Inc., Thibodeaux, $288,476.

Orleans – Drainage structures, class II base course, pavement patching, Portland cement concrete pavement, sanitary sewer work, water service, and related work for phase 1 of the Fleur De Lis Drive improvements from the I-610 service road to Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Barriere Construction Co. LLC, Belle Chasse, $3,441,969.20.

Ouachita – Landscaping and related work on I-20 in the cities of Monroe and West Monroe for the Twin City Gateway Project, Quality Design and Construction Inc., Gonzales, $373,229.20.

District 08 – Repair or replacement of damaged guardrails and related work in District 08, United Rentals Hwy. Technologies Inc., Baton Rouge, $500,935.
