Who:               All interested citizens are invited and encouraged to attend.

Purpose:         The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will conduct an open-house format public hearing in support of the development of a connector route between La.1 and I-10 west of the Mississippi River in West Baton Rouge Parish. The connector will include an additional crossing over the Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW). Congress, at the request of local government, provided funding to begin development of this project.

The hearing will include a brief presentation describing the project followed by a brief comment period.  Representatives of DOTD and the project team will be present to provide information relative to the general location and design features of the roadway; social, economic, environmental and other impacts of the project; the relocation assistance program; and any other matters of interest.

Detailed information relative to the project is available to those interested through copies of the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA). Copies of the EA are available for public review and copying at the following locations:

o       West Baton Rouge Public Library, located at 830 North Alexander Ave., Port Allen, La.

o       DOTD Environmental Section office located at 1201 Capitol Access Road, Room 504A, Baton Rouge, La.

o       DOTD District 61 Office, located at 8100 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge, La.

o       FHWA office located at 5304 Flanders Dr, Suite A, Baton Rouge, La.
