BATON ROUGE, La.  – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) reopened the St. Francisville/New Roads Ferry on Monday, Oct. 16, after last week’s dredging of the river bottom around the St. Francisville landing.

The operating hours for the ferry are 4 a.m. to midnight.  The ferry service schedule is quarter past the hour and forty-five past the hour on the New Roads side.  On the St. Francisville side, the ferry runs on the hour and half past the hour.

The dredging process will safeguard against future low water levels.  The water level needs to be eight feet to safely operate the ferry.
