DOTD announces results of July 26 bid letting

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling over $78 million at its July 26 public bid opening, according to Gov. Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $23,626,020.61, Boh Bros. Construction Co. LLC, New Orleans, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in St. Tammany Parish calling for grading, drainage structures, class II base course, cold planing, superpave, Portland cement concrete pavement, sidewalks, traffic signals and related work on U.S. 190, La. 1087 and La. 59 from La. 22 to Bayou Castine.

Other projects by parish(es), description, apparent low bidder and bid are as follows:

Acadia – Cold planing, in-place cement stabilized base course, superpave and related work on La. 97 from La. 368 to U.S. 190, Gilchrist Construction Co. LLC, Alexandria, $2,354,583.20.

East Baton Rouge – Traffic signal system replacement and synchronization on U.S. 190 for Phase IV of the East Baton Rouge traffic signal synchronization project, Jack B. Harper Contractor, Inc., Mandeville, $4,769,530.

Jefferson – Grading, reinforced concrete box culvert, Portland cement concrete pavement, traffic signal system and related work on the Airline Park Boulevard Bridge over Canal No. 5 in West Metairie, Fleming Construction Co. Inc., Kenner, $2,057,692.84.

Jefferson – Grading, drainage structures, cold planing asphaltic pavement, superpave and related work for an overlay project on Power Boulevard from West Esplanade Avenue to Vintage Drive, Boh Bros. Construction Co. LLC, New Orleans, $1,147,041.60.

             JeffersonDrainage structures, cold planing, superpave and related work for an overlay project on Lapalco Boulevard from Timberlane Drive to Wall Boulevard, Barriere Construction Co. LLC, Boutte, $2,108,685.60.

Jefferson, OrleansElectrical repairs and related work to repair walking path lights damaged by Hurricane Katrina, Toomer Electrical Co. Inc., Baton Rouge, $77,230.

OrleansFabrication and installation of wayfinding signs in New Orleans, Wainwright Construction and Maintenance Inc., Hammond, $111,996.

OrleansGrading, drainage structures, cold planing, class II base course, superpave and related work on Robert E. Lee Boulevard from Pontchartrain Boulevard to Canal Boulevard, Boh Bros. Construction Co. LLC, New Orleans, $4,887,292.65.

RichlandRemoval of bridges, superpave, slab span bridge and related work on the Collins Road, Leggins Road and Snider Road bridges, CW&W Contractors Inc., Sibley, $653,114.50.

St. Bernard – Complete renovation of mechanical system, electrical system and operator’s house, which were damaged by hurricane, for Yscloskey Bridge rehabilitation, Coastal Bridge Co. LLC, Baton Rouge, $969,250.

St. Landry – Grading, drainage structures, bridge superstructure and substructure and related work on the Jack Fox Road Bridge, Shiloh Contractors Inc., Shreveport, $273,061.

Terrebonne – Left turn lane, asphaltic concrete widening and drainage structures for a turn lane on La. 24 at Clendenning Road, Huey Stockstill, Inc., Picayune, Miss., $242,477. 20.

Statewide – Replace all engines on the M/V Ascension and conduct a U.S. Coast Guard inspection of the underhull, A & Z Marine, Inc., Port Allen, $687,144.55.
