NEW ORLEANS – The Huey P. Long Bridge Widening public outreach office welcomes those interested to attend an open house on Thursday, May 25, 2006, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The office is located at the Jefferson Business Center 1, 520 Elmwood Park Blvd., Suite 135 in Harahan.

The public can visit the office at their convenience to view the public outreach office, ask project staff questions and access the latest project news and information.  Light refreshments will be served.

An official ribbon cutting by the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce will take place at 11 a.m.

“The public outreach open house is an excellent opportunity for the public to meet project staff and receive up-to-date information about Huey P. Long Bridge Widening Project,” said TIMED Public Outreach Coordinator Talisha Dunn-Square.

Office hours are every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“The public outreach team understands how vital the Huey P. Long Bridge Widening Project is to residents of Jefferson Parish and the surrounding New Orleans area,” said Dunn-Square. “It is important for the public to use the outreach office because it is a place set up specifically for them to voice concerns, ask questions and receive current project information.”

In addition to visiting the office, the public can get information by contacting the public outreach office at (504)731-4200, toll-free at (866) 846-3352 or by email at hueypbridgeinfo@latimedmgrs.com.

The completed project will include three 11-foot lanes in each direction, along with new inside and outside shoulders across the bridge. The project also will include construction of new roadway approaches that will provide signalized intersections at Bridge City Avenue and Jefferson Highway.
