The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that US 90 from Manchester Road MP 38 to David Road 41 IS NOW OPEN FOR TRAFFIC.

Motorists should avoid driving during this period unless there is an emergency. If you must drive, watch for flooded roadways, downed trees/utility lines, and storm debris across area roads and bridges due to wind and storm damage. Motorists should avoid driving into standing or running water. Drivers should also follow these tips when driving during and after a rainfall event:
• slow down, be attentive, and avoid driving distracted
• allow for extra driving time and additional room between vehicles
• reduce speeds when visibility is low or road surfaces are wet
• be alert for DOTD, other state, and local responders’ equipment and workers performing work on the bridges and roadways.
• buckle up and refrain from drinking and driving
• do not use your cruise control
