BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development considered bids totaling over $49 million at its Feb. 22 public bid opening, according to Governor Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $20,203,759, Traylor Brothers/Massman Construction, a joint venture, Evansville, Ind., was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Lafourche Parish calling for welded steel plate girder spans and related work on La. 1 over Bayou Lafourche at Leeville for Phase 1C on the main spans.
