Please be advised that the following Bridge Design Technical Memorandum (BDTM) has been approved by the Bridge Design Engineer Administrator and published on the DOTD Bridge Design Section website for implementation at:

BDTM.96 – Load Rating, Posting and Strengthening - Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

Summary:

This BDTM publishes the procedure to be used by design engineers when performing load ratings for on-system bridges (except for on-system timber bridges). This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been developed to minimize the number of posted bridges.

This email notification is distributed to all DOTD in-house bridge designers, consultant firms on the DOTD solicitation list, and those copied on the BDTM memo.

If you are listed as the Principle-In-Charge for a consultant firm, please inform your design staff of this BDTM. Thank you.
