OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC HEARING AND AVAILABILITY OF THE SUPPLEMENTAL ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT (SEA) FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF OLD HAMMOND HIGHWAY
The City of Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD), in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is affording the opportunity for a public hearing for the proposed reconstruction project of Old Hammond Highway, located in the City of Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana.
The proposed scope of the project includes reconstruction of Old Hammond Highway beginning at the intersection of Old Hammond Highway and Boulevard De Province and ending at the intersection of Old Hammond Highway and Millerville Road. Construction will consist of an additional travel lane in each direction, a roundabout at the intersection of Flannery Road, subsurface drainage system, sidewalks and a bridge to enhance access for people using alternative modes of transportation such as but not limited to walking and biking.

Copies of the Supplemental Environmental Assessment which documents the purpose and need of the project, and the anticipated social, economic, and environmental impacts, are available for public inspection and copying (at cost) during business hours at the following locations:

Comments may be mailed to Mark Kessler, Project Manager, at the office address presented below. Emails may be sent to the following email address movebr@brla.gov. Comments received prior to the close of the public comment period on October 16, 2020, will become part of the final document, and will be considered when making future project related decisions.

Any person wanting to request a public hearing shall do so by signed letter addressed to Mark Kessler, Project Manager, at the Forte and Tablada, Inc. 9107 Interline Ave., Baton Rouge, LA 70809. Said letter must be postmarked no later than October 16, 2020.
