UPDATE: LA 138 in Morehouse Parish, Lane Closure; SP H.010470

UPDATE (10/22/20): LA 138 in Morehouse Parish starting from the south intersection of LA 593 to the north intersection with LA 2 will experience various lane closures beginning Friday, October, 23, 2020. Traffic will be maintained through the use of flaggers and pilot vehicles to assist with travel through this area during daylight working hours. All lanes will be open during non-working hours and overnight. The work is anticipated to be complete by March 31, 2021, weather permitting. The lane closures are required to perform drainage improvements, mill the existing roadway surface, construct a new soil cement base course, and install new asphalt surfacing.
UPDATE (10/13/20): Due to flooding from Hurricane Delta, the LA 138 road closures described below for Wednesday, October 14, 2020, to Friday, October 16, 2020, have been rescheduled for Monday, October 19, 2020, to Wednesday, October 21, 2020, weather permitting.
UPDATE (10/7/20): Due to Hurricane Delta, the LA 138 road closures described below for Thursday, October 8, 2020, to Saturday, October 10, 2020 have been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 14, 2020, to Friday, October 16, 2020, weather permitting.
UPDATE (9/22/20): The LA 138 road closures described below have been rescheduled for for Wednesday, September 30, 2020, to Friday, October 2, 2020, and from Tuesday, October 6, 2020, to Saturday, October 10, 2020, weather permitting.
UPDATE (9/21/20): The LA 138 road closure is being postponed and rescheduled due to rain from Tropical Storm Beta.
LA 138 in Morehouse Parish will be closed to all traffic from the intersection of LA 138 and LA 593 in Collinston to the intersection of LA 138 and LA 2 in Mer Rouge from Wednesday, September 23, 2020, to Friday, September 25, 2020, and from Monday, September 28, 2020, to Friday, October 2, 2020, weather permitting. The closure is required to replace cross drains located on LA 138 between Collinston and Mer Rouge and is expected to take 8 total days.

Detour: No formal detour route will be required as LA 138 will still be open to all traffic.
