DOTD urges motorists to use caution through I-20 construction zone in Webster Parish

SHREVEPORT – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development urges motorists to use caution approaching the ongoing construction project to patch, mill, and overlay I-20 in Bossier, Webster, and Bienville Parishes.

The project extends from the US 80 overpass in Bossier Parish to the Crawford Street overpass in Bienville Parish, but intermittent lane closures are currently in place in the portion of the project near Minden.

The entire project is anticipated to be complete in late Fall 2020, weather permitting.

DOTD reminds motorists to pay attention to advanced warning signs that are in place to advise drivers that they are approaching the work zone. Please keep the following safety tips in mind:
  • Avoid driving distracted or under the influence of drugs or alcohol at all times.
  • Adhere to the posted speed limit in the construction zone.
  • Allow plenty of room between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you.
  • Pay attention to law enforcement vehicles placed at the end of the traffic queue warning motorists to slow down.
