DOTD announces results of Nov. 16, bid letting

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development considered bids totaling over $37 million at its Nov. 16 public bid opening, according to Governor Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $14,065,373.87, James Construction Group LLC, Baton Rouge, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Lincoln Parish calling for grading, drainage structures, lime treatment, class II base course, superpave asphaltic concrete pavement, Portland cement concrete pavement, concrete slab span bridges with approach slabs and related work on U.S. 167 from Vienna to La. 822.

Other projects by parish(es), description, apparent low bidder and bid are as follows:

Avoyelles – Clearing and grubbing, and related work at the intersection of La. 451 and Old Highway 1, Thunderbolt Construction, LLC, Center Point, $31,610.00

Catahoula – Bridge fender repairs and related work for the Ouachita River Brige at Harrisonburg, Coastal Bridge Co. LLC, Baton Rouge, $949,000.00.

Catahoula, Concordia – Grading, lime treatment, class II base course, superpave asphaltic concrete pavement, concrete girder span bridge and approaches and related work on La. 15 from the Tensas River Bridge to Clayton, Coastal Bridge Co. LLC, Baton Rouge, $3,268,889.80.

East Baton Rouge – Grading, drainage structures, class II base course, cold planing asphaltic pavement, superpave asphaltic concrete, signalization and related work on U.S. 61 (Airline Highway) for a widening project from Jefferson Highway to Florida Boulevard, Barber Bros. Contracting Co. LLC, Baton Rouge, $13,283,158.30.

Orleans – Grading, drainage structures, Portland cement concrete pavement, new building, mechanical and electrical work, building demolition and related for a new vehicle maintenance facility and storage yard, Command Construction LLC, Mandeville, $2,750,748.00.

Rapides – Clearing and grubbing, class II base course, drainage structures, superpave asphaltic concrete overlay, Portland cement concrete pavement, slab span bridge and related work for the Broadway Avenue Bridge replacement, Peters Construction Co. Inc., Oakdale, $798,956.49.

Rapides – Clearing, grubbing, utility relocation and related work on Heyman Lane from Coliseum Boulevard to Castle Road, Rylee Contracting, Inc., Alexandria, $1,341,656.50.

St. Landry – Raised pavement markers, plastic pavement striping and related work for the replacement of pavement markings in the northbound and southbound lanes of I-49, Highway Graphics Inc., West Monroe, $222,995.00.

Tensas – Construction of new maintenance office building and related work for the Lake Bruin Maintenance Office, Barraza Construction LLC, St. Josephs, $371,598.47.
