I-10 EB between MM 114.5 & 117 (Atchafalaya Basin Bridge), St. Martin Parish, Alternating Lane Closures
Monday, August 31, 2020 at 9:29:44 AM

I-10 eastbound between mile markers 114.5 and 117 (Atchafalaya Basin Bridge) will have nightly alternating lane closures beginning on Monday, August 31 at 8:00 p.m. until Wednesday, September 2 at 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.

These closures are required in order to perform sawing and sealing of bridge joints and to install permanent striping.

The road will be open to regular traffic with no vehicle restrictions.

Emergency vehicles will have access to the area but may encounter delays. There will be no detour.

This work is related to the FASTLANE I-10 widening project (State Project Number H.003014). This $54.7 million project will involve pavement replacement within the existing lanes in each direction for 2.7 miles along I-10 from LA 347 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. An additional lane will be added in the westbound direction.

With the help of the FASTLANE grant, this is the second of three projects to reconstruct and widen the I-10 corridor from I-49 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

The project began in July 2017 and is estimated for completion in September 2020.
