ROAD CLOSURE UPDATES: Central LA Region (Alexandria District)

(UPDATE - 9/9/2020 10:45 AM):

The state highways in GRANT Parish are re-opened to traffic.

The state highways in NATCHITOCHES Parish are re-opened to traffic.

The state highways in WINN Parish are re-opened to traffic.

(UPDATE - 9/3/2020 2:00 PM): Due to downed power and other utility lines, the following road closures remain in place (with barricades) in the Central LA Region (Alexandria District) due to Hurricane Laura.

Once the utility companies are able to move their lines, DOTD crews will continue tree/debris clearing operations. Please use caution when traveling in these areas, and be mindful of crews and their equipment.

DOTD reminds motorists that it is extremely unsafe and illegal to drive around a ‘road closed’ barricade at any time for any reason.

The roads in AVOYELLES Parish are re-opened to traffic.

The roads in VERNON Parish are re-opened to traffic.

The roads in SABINE Parish are re-opened to traffic.

The roads in RAPIDES Parish are re-opened to traffic.

Additionally, many traffic signals across the region do not currently have electricity so the signals are not operational. If you encounter a dark or flashing traffic signal, you should treat the intersection as a four-way stop if there is no law enforcement personnel on site directing traffic.
