UPDATE - LANE/ROAD CLOSURE: LA 512 near Pelican in DeSoto Parish
UPDATE (9/24/2020): This project is now scheduled to begin on Monday, September 28, 2020. This includes a complete road closure on LA 512 to allow for the replacement of two pipes and a box culvert.
Local traffic (residents and businesses) will be allowed access on LA 512 via flagging operations, but through traffic will need to detour.
This closure is estimated to be in place for approximately 35 days, with progress dependent on weather conditions.
Alternate route: Detour for eastbound traffic on LA 512: US 171 to LA 174 to LA 483 and back to LA 512.
Detour for westbound traffic on LA 512: LA 483 to LA 174 to US 171 and back to LA 512.
Detour signage will be in place.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, August 17, 2020, there will be intermittent lane closures on LA 512 from US 171 to LA 483 near the Pelican community in DeSoto Parish.
These lane closures will be accompanied by a flagging operation, and are necessary to allow for construction to begin on a project to mill and overlay both LA 512 and LA 483 in this area.
Additionally, beginning on Monday, August 24, 2020, there will be a complete road closure on LA 512 to allow for the replacement of two pipes and a box culvert.
Local traffic (residents and businesses) will be allowed access on LA 512 via flagging operations, but through traffic will need to detour.
Alternate route: Detour for eastbound traffic on LA 512: US 171 to LA 174 to LA 483 and back to LA 512.
