DOTD announces results of May 11, 2005, bid letting

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling over $25 million at its May 11 public bid opening, according to Governor Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $14,588,232.46, James Construction Group LLC, Baton Rouge, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Caddo Parish calling for grading, drainage structures, lime treatment, class II base course, superpave, Portland cement concrete pavement, precast-prestressed concrete girder spans bridge, traffic signalization and related work on La. 3132 on the Inner Loop Extension (from the Industrial Loop to La. 523).

Other projects by parish(es), description, apparent low bidder and bid are as follows:

Jefferson – Drainage structures, cold planing asphaltic pavement, superpave, pavement rehabilitation and related work for Codifer Boulevard rehabilitation, from Beverly Garden Road to Metairie Road, Hard Rock Construction Co., Metairie, $841,594.10.

Jefferson Davis – Grading, drainage structures, pavement patching, cold planing asphaltic pavement, lime treatment, in-place cement stabilized base course, class II base course, Portland cement concrete pavement, superpave, traffic signalization, and related work for improvements to the LA 26 intersections of LA 102 and US 90, R.E. Heidt Construction Co., Inc., Westlake, $2,683,383.37.

Orleans – Cold planing asphaltic pavement, superpave, Portland cement concrete pavement, traffic signalization and related work for improvements to the intersection of South Carrollton Avenue and Ulloa Street, Boh Bros. Construction Co., LLC., New Orleans, $313,802.05.

Ouachita – Grading, drainage structures, lime treatment, class II base course, superpave, Portland cement concrete pavement and related work on US 165 from the Caldwell Parish line to La. 841, D & J Construction Co., Inc., West Monroe, $6,750,813.80.

West Feliciana – Asphaltic surface treatment, temporary pavement markings, plastic pavement striping construction layout and related work on La. 66 from US 61 to La. 968 and from La. 968 to log mile 1.89, W.R. Core, LLC., Folsom, $252,880.97.
