LA 20 Bayou Chevreuil Bridge Intermittent Lane Closures, St. James/Lafourche Parish
Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 2:34:40 PM
The below intermittent lane closures are postponed until Monday, August 3rd, due to high water in the area.

Clearing and grubbing is underway for State Project H.009481 LA 20 Bayou Chevreuil Bridge. The project is 0.441 miles long and the type of work is clearing and grubbing, removal of bridge, grading, drainage structures, milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, class II base course, asphalt concrete pavement, precast concrete piles, precast prestressed concrete girder span bridge, and related work at a cost of $11,690,767.39.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that there will be intermittent lane closures on LA 20 near the bridge at Bayou Chevreuil. These closures will begin Thursday, July 23rd, Monday, August 3rd, and will take place between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm. Motorists will still have access to travel the roadway, but should anticipate delays as flaggers facilitate and direct traffic. These short, intermittent lane closures are expected to last approximately two weeks, weather permitting, as crews clear trees/debris for the upcoming utility relocations.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
