UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 534 bridge over Branch, near Ruple, Claiborne Parish
UPDATE (8/1/2020): Repairs are complete and this bridge has been REOPENED.

UPDATE (7/24/2020): This is bridge is now closed due to the condition of the structure and in the interest of the safety of the traveling public. Previously scheduled repairs will begin immediately.
DOTD appreciates the public's patience as this work gets underway, and asks motorists to approach any work zone with caution and pay attention to advance warning signs indicating a road closure.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, July 27, 2020, the LA 534 bridge over Branch (unnamed waterway) near Ruple in Claiborne Parish will be closed for bridge repairs.
This closure is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:00 a.m., and last until Sunday, August 2, 2020.
This bridge is located approximately 3.8 miles north of LA 2.
Alternate Route: Total bridge closure. All vehicles must detour using LA 534, LA 2, LA 540, and US 79.
Restrictions/Permits: N/A
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
