Dept. of Transportation and Development Announces Bid Results for Statewide Projects

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that seven projects around the state were let on July 8, 2020. Seven contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $7.8 million.

“This letting was small, but no less important than lettings with major projects,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “We’re pleased to continue making improvements on several roadways throughout the state.”

The projects and their apparent low bids are as follows:

Pavement/ Overlay:
  • Milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 550 between LA 2 and LA 15 in Union Parish: $2,389,835.10
  • Microsurfacing on LA 27 between High Hope Road and Rigmaiden Cemetery Road in Calcasieu Parish: $919,744.32
  • Grading, milling, overlay, and drainage on LA 418 between LA 1 and LA 417 in Pointe Coupee Parish: $683,753.60
  • Patching on LA 154 between Bossier Parish line and LA 4 in Bienville Parish: $591,818.35
  • Milling, patching, and overlay on LA 126, LA 8, and U.S. 84 in LaSalle Parish: $1,685,408.20
  • Grading, milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 731 between LA 182 and U.S. 90 South Service Road in Lafayette Parish: $1,365,145.81

Congestion Mitigation and Safety:
  • Left turn lane on LA 385 at College Street in Calcasieu Parish: $149,976.20

Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
