DOTD Announces February 23, 2005, Bid Letting Results

BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling over $16 million at its February 23 public bid opening, according to Governor Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $3,171,215.45, H & S Construction Co., Inc., Broussard, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Iberia Parish calling for grading, cold planing asphaltic pavement, asphaltic surface treatment, superpave, pavement patching, and related work on LA 14 from LA 675 to US 90.

            Other projects by parish(es), description, apparent low bidder and bid are as follows:

            Allen – Cold planing asphaltic concrete, pavement patching, superpave, and related work on US 165 in Oakdale from the South city limits to the North city limits, Gilchrist Construction Co., LLC, Alexandria, $1,657,774.46.

            Caddo – Grading, drainage structures, cold planing asphaltic concrete, cement treated base course, superpave, and related work on US 71 from LA 170 (Gilliam) to LA 2-East (Hosston), Benton & Brown, LLC, Minden, $1,594,707.81.

            Grading, drainage structure, superpave, pavement patching, and related work on LA 169 from Longwood to Mooringsport Highway, Madden Contracting Co., Inc., Minden, $2,133,288.47.

            Jefferson – Cold planing asphaltic concrete, pavement patching, superpave, and related work on LA 611-9 from Severn to Orleans, Boh Bros. Construction Co., LLC, New Orleans, $2,185,467.45.

            Jefferson Davis – Grading, drainage structures, class II base course, superpave, portland cement concrete pavement, signalization, and related work on LA 102 from LA 97 to I-10, McManus Construction, Inc., Lake Charles, $2,579,206.67.

            Ouachita – Grading, portland cement concrete sidewalks, boardwalk, landscaping, and related work on the Bayou Walk at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, The Meco Group, Inc., Lafayette, $267,567.50.

            Richland - Maintenance mowing and litter and trash collection on I-20, Abita Builders, LLC, Abita Springs, $152,400.00.

            St. Charles – Maintenance mowing and litter and trash collection on I-310, Oasis Horticultural Services, Inc., Jefferson, $76,069.00.

            St. Landry – Grading, cold planing asphaltic concrete, lime treatment, class II base course, cement treated base course, superpave, asphaltic surface treatment, and related work on LA 31 and LA 347 in Leonville, W. E. McDonald & Son, LLC, Glenmora, $1,578,611.32.

St. Mary – Class II base course, pavement patching, pavement rehabilitation, solar powered temporary traffic signal, and related work on LA 83 from LA 319 to the Iberia Parish line, Bulliard Construction Co., Inc., St. Martinville, $142,349.07.

Tangipahoa – Grading, cold planing asphaltic concrete, in-place stabilized base course, superpave, pavement patching, pavement widening, and related work on US 51 from I-55 to LA 22, Barriere Construction Co., LLC, Covington, $549,664.24.

West Baton Rouge – Grading, drainage structures, class II base course, superpave, portland cement concrete sidewalk, and related work on the Port Allen Levee and Community Bicycle Path, Phase II, Garrett-Laborde Construction, LLC, Baton Rouge, $257,140.20.
