DOTD Announces January 12, 2005, Bid Letting Results

BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling over $9 million at its January 12 public bid opening, according to Governor Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $4,640,843.70, F. Miller & Sons, LLC, Lake Charles, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Calcasieu Parish calling for intracoastal waterway bridge fender replacement piers on LA 27.

            Other projects by parish(es), description, apparent low bidder and bid are as follows:

            Calcasieu – Grading, class II base course, lime treatment, drainage structures, cold planing, superpave, portland cement concrete pavement, and related work on LA 384 from Country Club Road to Nelson Road, Bessette Development Corp., Lake Charles, $1,905,987.78.

            Iberville – Building and sidewalk renovations at the Iberville Welcome Center, Williams Construction Co. of Port Allen, Port Allen, $218,012.69.

            Jefferson – Grading, cold planing, pavement patching, and related work on I-10 from the Williams Overpass to the Veterans Overpass, Barriere Construction Co., LLC, Boutte, $2,221,409.00.

LaSalle – Clearing and grubbing and related work on US 165 from Tullos to Olla, Specialty Contractors, Marthaville, $278,945.44.
