BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling over $52 million at its September 29 public bid opening, according to Governor Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $14,360,991.75, Diamond B. Construction Co., LLC, Alexandria, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Grant Parish calling for grading, drainage structures, lime treatment, class II base course, Portland Concrete Cement Pavement, superpave, concrete slab span and quad beam bridges, and related work on US 165 from LA 123 to Georgetown.
