Dept. of Transportation and Development Announces Bid Results for Statewide Projects

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that 25 projects around the state were let on June 10, 2020. Seventeen contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $59.2 million.

“Another successful letting is in the books as we continue to make improvements to our state’s infrastructure system,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “Louisiana citizens and visitors will see improvements from bridge replacements to new paving to new interstate reflectors, which will all further enhance the safety of the traveling public.”

The projects and their apparent low bids are as follows:

Bridge Replacement and Repair:
  • Replacement of U.S. 80 overpass at Kansas City Southern railroad tracks in Lincoln Parish: $6,620,499.25
  • Replacement of Section Line Road Bridge in Vernon Parish: $1,168,095.83
  • Replacement of Rouge Bayou Bridge on LA 360 in St. Landry Parish: $4,969,251.15
  • Replacement of bridge on North Black Bayou Drive at Hanson Canal in Terrebonne Parish: $599,855.68
  • Replacement of bridge on Little Chenier Road at Little Chenier Bayou in Cameron Parish: $673,230.02

Pavement/ Overlay:
  • Grading, milling, paving, and drainage on LA 383 between I-10 and 0.4 miles north of I-10 in Calcasieu Parish: $973,154.24
  • Grading, milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 86 between LA 347 and LA 31 in Iberia Parish: $1,471,095.26
  • Grading and paving on LA 415 at Plantation Avenue in West Baton Rouge Parish: $222,663.79
  • Milling, overlay, and drainage on LA 478 between Vowells Mill and LA 117 in Natchitoches Parish: $2,807,695.84
  • Grading, milling, patching, paving, and drainage on LA 93 between U.S. 90 and 1.5 miles south of U.S. 90 in Lafayette Parish: $2,460,840.25
  • Grading, milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 1 between LA 75 and Port Allen Canal Bridge in Iberville and West Baton Rouge parishes: $7,716,131.01
  • Milling, overlay, patching, and bridge rail repair on U.S. 61 between Williams Boulevard and the railroad overpass in Jefferson Parish: $1,477,018.85
  • Milling, patching, and overlay on LA 17 between Winnsboro and LA 577 in Franklin Parish: $2,051,073.15
  • Milling, patching, overlay, and culvert rehabilitation on U.S. 61 between Florida Boulevard and Greenwell Street in East Baton Rouge Parish: $5,320,804.38
  • Grading and paving LA 128 and LA 562 intersections at LA 4 in Franklin Parish: $742,532.25
  • Grading, milling, patching, overlay, paving, and drainage on LA 1247 between LA 1 and LA 1010 in Assumption Parish: $541,456.60

Congestion Mitigation and Safety:
  • Pavement markings on I-10 between I-110 and Acadian Thruway in East Baton Rouge Parish: $98,408.00
  • Rehabilitation of ramps along I-20 in Lincoln and Ouachita parishes: $8,468,786.46
  • Signage on I-49 between 2 miles north of LA 3265 and 4 miles north of LA 1 in Rapides Parish: $1,988,131.20
  • Traffic signalization in Lafayette Parish: $6,555,555.55
  • Signal detection upgrades on I-110, LA 42, LA 67, U.S. 61, and U.S. 61-X in East Baton Rouge Parish: $1,253,885.16
  • Pavement markings on I-10 between LA 415 and Iberville Parish line in West Baton Rouge and Iberville parishes: $205,166.38

Other:
  • Sidewalk improvements along LA 441 in Livingston Parish: $239,268.39
  • Construction of Lafitte Corridor Greenway in Orleans Parish: $449,605.45
  • Construction of Harrison Avenue Trailhead in Orleans Parish: $126,165.00

Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
