ATTENTION CONSULTANT COMMUNITY,

Please be advised that the following Bridge Design Technical Memorandum (BDTM) has been approved by the Bridge Design Engineer Administrator and published on the DOTD Bridge Design Section website for implementation at:

The BDTM index has been updated and posted as well.

BDTM.90 – Updates in BDEM Part II Volume 1 and Volume 2

Summary:

BDTM.90 addresses needed modification to Load Rating and Design as follows:

1. Load Rating - Emergency Vehicles EV2 and EV3
2. Steel Bridge Posting Evaluation - Elimination of Service II Limit State
3. Clarification on As-Designed Rating and Bridge Evaluation
4. Clarification on Box Culvert Live Load Application

This email notification is distributed to all DOTD in-house designers, consultant firms on the DOTD solicitation list, and the people on the cc list.
