BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling over $49 million at its July 28 public bid opening, according to Governor Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $25,584,662.41, Denton-James LLC, Baton Rouge, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Caldwell Parish calling for clearing and grubbing, grading, drainage structures, lime treatment, cold planning, superpave, portland cement concrete pavement, traffic signalization, and related work on US 165 and LA 126, from Grayson to Columbia.

            Bossier - Partial replacement of deteriorated concrete cap and related work on the Red River Bridge on US 80 at Texas Street, Shiloh Contractors, Inc., Shreveport, $267,320.00.  

            Calcasieu - Removal of two underground storage tanks, removal of contaminated soil, backfilling, and related work on LA 384, Eagle Construction and Environmental Services L. P., Eastland, Texas, $21,943.02.

            Erosion repair and related work on the I-10 eastbound on-ramp, RMK Construction Co., LLC, Deridder, $147,684.00.
