The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will conduct Public Meetings for the above project. DOTD proposes to upgrade the existing roadway to Federal Interstate Standards on both existing and new alignments and name the new facility Interstate 49 (I-49). The proposed project originates west of the I-310 Interchange at the intersection of LA 306 and U.S. 90 in St. Charles Parish and proceeds eastbound along the U.S. 90 corridor to the end of the elevated portion of the Westbank Expressway in Jefferson Parish . An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will be processed for this project.

The purpose of these meetings is to continue the public involvement process, to show the public preliminary alignments, and to solicit comments from the public about the project. The meetings will include a brief presentation that describes the project study area, the project planning process, the schedule for completing the EIS, and the alignments considered to date. In addition, an aerial photograph of the project study area and known environmental issues will be displayed for the public to review. Comments and suggestions will be invited from all interested parties to help ensure that the study team addresses the full range of environmental issues during the EIS study process.

Following the presentation, representatives of DOTD will be available to receive comments and answer questions related to this project. All interested citizens are invited and encouraged to attend.

Should anyone require special assistance, due to a disability, to participate in these Public Meetings, please contact DOTD by mail at the address shown below, or by telephone at (225) 242-4513, at least five working days prior to the Public Meetings.
