DOTD Announces June 30, 2004, Bid Letting Results

BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling over $26 million at its June 30 public bid opening, according to Governor Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

            With a bid of $18,599,933.18, James Construction Group, LLC, Baton Rouge, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Winn Parish calling for grading, cold planing, drainage structures, lime treatment, class II base course, superpave, portland cement concrete pavement, concrete girder spans bridges, traffic signalization, and related work on US 167 from the existing five lane roadway in Winnfield southward approximately three miles.

            Other projects by parish(es), description, apparent low bidder and bid are as follows:

Acadia, Iberville, Lafayette, St. Martin – Traffic signing and related work on I-10 from Crowley to Ramah, Mastec North America, Inc., Round Rock, Texas, $2,324,006.04.

Bienville, Claiborne – Asphaltic surface treatment, temporary reflectorized raised pavement markers (tabs), pavement patching, reflective raised pavement markers,  plastic pavement symbols and striping, and related work at various points on LA 2 and LA 155, P. R. Parker Company, Inc., Shreveport, $258,575.34.

Bossier – Grading, cold planing, superpave, traffic signalization, and related work on turn lanes on LA 157 at LA 614, Benton & Brown, LLC, Minden, $310,951.58.

Calcasieu – Cold planing, superpave, and related work on LA 397 at the junction of LA 14 and the junction of US 90, R. E. Heidt Construction Co., Inc., Westlake, $1,329,280.10.

Class II base course, portland cement concrete pavement, and related work on the I-210 eastbound off ramp at LA 14, John Bailey, Inc., Sulphur, $169,619.35.

Lafourche – Grading, drainage structures, class II base course, superpave, portland cement concrete sidewalks and curbs, and related work on the Bayou Lafourche Linear Park Extension, Barriere Construction Co., LLC, Boutte, $387,136.60.

Livingston – Cold planing, pavement widening, drainage structures, superpave, and related work on LA 16 from LA 42 to LA 447, Coastal Bridge Co., Inc., Baton Rouge, $823,013.40.

Livingston, Tangipahoa, St. Tammany – Surface abrasion and related work at various points on I-12, Humble Equipment Co., Inc., Ruston, $251,790.30.

Natchitoches, Rapides – Removal of structures and obstructions, cross drain pipe, concrete collar, riprap, geotextile fabric, pavement patching, bedding material, hydro-seeding, and related work at various points on LA 156 and LA 1203, Con-Terra, Inc., Bossier City, $63,275.00.

St. Charles – Superpave, wearing course, cold planing, storm drain pipe, side drain pipe, temporary pavement markings, pavement widening, and related work on turn lanes on LA 18 at LA 52, Barriere Construction Co., LLC, Boutte, $109,591.67.

            St. Martin – Replacement of guard rail and related work at various points on I-10 near Henderson, Alpha Service and Products, Inc., Marthaville, $70,278.00.

St. Mary – Superpave, temporary pavement markings, pavement patching, reflectorized raised pavement markings, plastic pavement striping, surface preparation, and related work at various points on LA 322 and LA 3069, H & S Construction Co., Inc., Broussard, $178,673.59.

St. Tammany – Asphaltic surface treatment, temporary signs and barricades, reflectorized raised pavement markers, plastic pavement striping, and related work at various points on LA 36, W. R. Core, LLC, Folsom, $224,198.82.

West Carroll – Grading, superpave, pavement patching, and related work on LA 2 from the Morehouse parish line to Mt. Zion Road, D & J Construction Co., Inc., West Monroe, $1,295,679.50.
