GOVERNOR APPOINTS DOTD DEPUTY SECRETARY
BATON ROUGE---Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco today announced she has appointed Cedric S. Grant as Deputy Secretary for the Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD).
“I am exceptionally pleased with the appointment of Cedric Grant, another native Louisianan we are adding to our team to move our great state ahead,” Blanco said.
Currently employed by Parsons Corporation in Atlanta, Grant manages road and highway infrastructure projects valued at $10 million for clients such as the Georgia Department of Transportation and the City of Atlanta. Prior to his employment with Parsons, he held numerous managerial and administrative positions with the City of New Orleans, most recently as Chief Administrative Officer. Mr. Grant also served as Planning Manager for the Port of New Orleans and Director of Capital Projects for the New Orleans Downtown Development District. Mr. Grant is a Certified City Manager and holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of New Orleans.
“Cedric brings some outstanding planning, transportation and managerial experience to DOTD. We are very fortunate to have attracted such a highly talented and successful individual and I am certainly looking forward to working with him,” said Johnny Bradberry, Secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development.
Mr. Grant’s appointment is effective August 2. He replaces Blaise Carriere, who is being reassigned to an existing, vacant position of Assistant to the Secretary for Policy.
