DOTD Announces Results of June 9, 2004, Bid Letting

BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling over $9 million at its June 9 public bid opening, according to Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $4,115,934.00, Barriere Construction Co., LLC, Boutte, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in St. Bernard Parish calling for grading, drainage structure, cold planing, superpave, cement treated base course, pavement patching, pavement widening, and related work on LA 46 from Paris Road approximately 8.58 miles to the Plaquemines Parish line.

            Other projects by parish(es), description, apparent low bidder and bid are as follows:

Assumption – Grading, class II base course, cold planing, superpave asphaltic concrete pavement, concrete slab span bridges, and related work on three bridges at various points along LA 182 between the St. Mary/ Assumption Parish line and the Assumption/ Terrebone Parish line, and on one bridge on LA 662 near LA 182 at Bayou Beouf, James Construction Group, LLC, Baton Rouge, $3,769,150.44.

Bossier – Removal and replacement of guard rail, breakaway cable terminal assemblies and guardrail end treatment at various points along I-20, I-220 and I-49, Jack B. Harper Contractor, Inc., Mandeville, $361,160.00.

Grant, Sabine, Avoyelles asphaltic surface treatment, temporary pavement markings, plastic pavement striping, painted traffic striping and related work at various points along LA 502, LA 483 and LA 362, W.R. Core, LLC, Folsom, $296,312.90.

Lincoln, Richlandasphaltic surface treatment, temporary signs and barricades, reflectorized pavement markers, pavement striping and related work at various points along LA 152, LA 576, LA 797, and LA 854, T.L. Wallace Construction, Inc., Columbia, MS, $260,057.07.

Ouachita – Removal and replacement of guard rail, breakaway cable terminal assemblies and guardrail end treatment at various points along I-20, Alpha Service and Products, Inc., Marthaville, $401,580.00.
