Mouton Road to reopen, bridge replacement complete in Jefferson Davis Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that Mouton Road bridge over Bayou Chene is set to reopen to traffic this evening.

Mouton Road is part of an off-system project that replaced three local bridges in Jefferson Davis Parish. The other two bridges, West Division Street over Petite Marais and Powell Road over Rodgers Gully, have both reopened to traffic.

Crews will continue to perform cleaning operations as the $2.6 million project nears completion. Short term lane closures will be required at all sites to complete work. All lane closure will be announced as soon as that information becomes available.

An off-system bridge is a structure not located on a federal or state highway. To learn more about the Off System Bridge Rehabilitation and Replacement Program, please visit http://wwwsp.dotd.la.gov/Inside_LaDOTD/Divisions/Engineering/Bridge_Design/Pages/Off_System_Bridge.aspx.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
