East Baton Rouge Parish

The City of Baton Rouge/Parish of East Baton Rouge, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will conduct a Public Hearing in support of the widening of Jones Creek Road in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. The City and DOTD propose to widen the existing roadway between Tiger Bend Road and Coursey Boulevard. The proposed project originates on Jones Creek Road at Tiger Bend Road and proceeds northbound to the intersection of Jones Creek Road at Coursey Boulevard.

The Hearing will include a brief presentation describing the project followed by a brief comment period. Representatives of the DOTD and the project team will be present to provide information relative to the general location and design features of the roadway, social, economic, environmental and other impacts of the project, the relocation assistance program, tentative schedules for right-of-way acquisition and construction, and any other matters of interest. All interested citizens are invited and encouraged to attend.

Detailed information relative to the project is available to those interested through copies of the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA). Copies of the Draft EA are available for public review and copying at the above East Baton Rouge Library's Jones Creek Branch, at DOTD Environmental Section office located 1201 Capital Access Road, Room 201BB, Baton Rouge, LA, at the FHWA office located at 5304 Flanders Dr, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA, and at the East Baton Rouge City Parish Department of Public Works office. Copies of the Draft EA are also available for review or purchase at the DOTD District Office located at 8100 Airline Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
