BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered additional bids totaling over $6 million from its April 28 public bid opening, according to Governor Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $16,971,824.00, James Construction Group, LLC, Baton Rouge, remained the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job from the April 28 public bid opening, a project in Lincoln Parish calling for grading, drainage structures, class II base course, lime treatment, pavement widening, superpave, portland cement concrete pavement, and related work on US 167 from Ruston to Vienna.

            The additional projects by parish(es), description, apparent low bidder and bid are as follows:

Iberville, West Baton Rouge – Grading, cold planning, superpave, pavement patching, and related work on I-10 at the Iberville and West Baton Rouge parish lines, Diamond B Construction Co., LLC, Alexandria, $6,258,141.61.

St. Martin – Maintenance and operation of the interstate rest area at Butte La Rose on I-10, A.M.E. Service Inc., Norco, $160,888.
