Lafourche and St. Charles Parishes
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will be conducting Public Meetings for the above project. DOTD proposes to upgrade the existing roadway to Federal Interstate Standards on both existing and new alignments and name the new facility Interstate 49 (I-49). The proposed project originates west of the Louisiana Highway 1/Louisiana Highway 308 intersection with US Highway 90 in Lafourche Parish and proceeds eastbound along the U.S. 90 corridor to the Davis Pond Diversion in St. Charles Parish. An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will be processed for this project. The purpose of the public meetings is to present a progress report on the proposed project to the public and to solicit comments about the project from the public. The meetings will include a brief presentation that describes the project and the progress made since the previous public meetings. In addition, an aerial photograph of the project study area showing the alternative routes presently under review will be displayed for the public to review. Comments and suggestions will be invited from all interested parties to help insure that the study team addresses the full range of environmental issues during the EIS study process.
Following the presentation, representatives of DOTD and the consultant team will be available to receive comments and answer questions related to this project. All interested citizens are invited and encouraged to attend.
Should anyone require special assistance due to a disability, to participate in these Public Meetings please contact DOTD by mail at the address shown below, or by telephone at (225) 242-4502, at least five working days prior to the Public Meetings.
