BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling over $23 million at its April 14 public bid opening, according to Gov. Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.
With a bid of $11,487,769.52, Denton-James, LLC, Baton Rouge, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Sabine Parish calling for grading, drainage, cold planing, class II base course, superpave, concrete pavement, concrete slab span bridges, and related work on US 171 from Converse northward approximately 4.142 miles to the Desoto Parish line.

Vernon - Grading, drainage, lime treatment, class II base course, superpave, concrete slab span bridges, concrete girder span bridges, and related work on LA 10 from a point .189 miles south of the town of Pitkin southeastward approximately 3.686 miles to the Rapides Parish Line, James Construction Group, LLC, Baton Rouge, $8,799,276,01.
Washington - Grading, cold planing, superpave, pavement widening, and related work on LA 60 from LA 439 eastward approximately 2.77 miles to LA 10, Covington Paving Co., Covington, $789,135.78.
