Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that maintenance crews will be picking litter up in usually high-traffic areas along I-110 in East Baton Rouge Parish on Wednesday, April 22 and Thursday, April 23 from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Crews are able to pick up litter along this high traffic area of interstate because of the significantly reduced traffic volumes due to the stay at home order put in place by Governor Edwards. At this time, the extensive cleanup effort can be executed with minimized impacts to traffic and in a safety environment.

DOTD would like to remind motorists to please help keep Louisiana beautiful and save taxpayer dollars by not littering. In the 2018/2019 fiscal year, this Department spent approximately $9.5 million on picking up over 50,000 cubic yards of litter across the state.

DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for moving crews and their equipment.
