JEFFERSON PARISH, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that work to rehabilitate Clearview Parkway from West Metairie Avenue to West Napoleon Avenue is progressing.
There will be alternating closures in the left and center lanes on Clearview Parkway on Saturday, April 4, from 7:00 a.m.-9:00 pm., and Sunday, April 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for crews to remove nine (9) oak trees from the median. No detour is needed. Expect minor delays.
The tree removals are necessary so crews can install median upgrades that will improve the safety of turn lanes and crossovers, and maintain proper sight distance at all intersections.
In cooperation with DOTD, Jefferson Parish will plant 18 new oak trees on the Eastbank later this year, because of the tree removals.
The $1.7 million project includes patching and leveling roadway, mill and overlay, drainage improvements at intersections, safety upgrades and modifications of turn lanes and crossovers.
The contractor is Diamond B Construction Co., L.L.C. The project is expected to be completed in Fall 2020.
All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near an active work zone.
