Reminder of GeauxPass temporary changes during COVID-19

Baton Rouge, LA – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) would like to remind customers of the GeauxPass temporary changes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

GeauxPass, the statewide toll system, is currently distributing toll tags for no cost during the pandemic. In order to receive a free toll tag, motorists must open a new GeauxPass account. The fee for the toll tag is waived, but users must still have a credit/debit card on file to cover the actual cost of tolls. Customers will also need to give their driver’s license number, a valid address, phone number, and email address. GeauxPass will also need license plate numbers and descriptions of the vehicles needing tags. License plate numbers for any vehicles being towed, such as trailers, campers, and boats, will also be needed.

During the pandemic, motorists who do not have a toll tag must temporarily use the GeauxPass toll tag lane and will be sent an invoice in the mail for the price of the toll. There will not be any added fines or fees added to the first invoice. If no payment is made after 30 days, customers will receive a second invoice with a $5 late fee. If no payment is made after the second invoice, it will be sent to the Louisiana attorney general’s office for collection.

These changes will not affect customers who currently have a GeauxPass toll account and tag for their vehicles.
