DOTD extends temporary closure of I-10 Atchafalaya Welcome Center

BREAUX BRIDGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced today that the I-10 Atchafalaya Welcome Center and rest area closure has been extended until Monday, February 17. The closure is necessary to allow crews to connect a newly installed sewer plant, generator, and water supply tank.
Additionally, the restroom facility, north of I-10, will remain closed for renovation until April 30, 2014.
The north parking area will re-open on Monday, February 17. Motorists utilizing the parking area north of I-10 will have sidewalk access to the south restroom facilities.
Message boards will be activated along I-10 to notify drivers of the closure.
